
[miningmx.com] – Zola Tsotsi had agreed to step down as chairman of Eskom, said BDLive citing a statement from the power utility, adding that the battle betwee Tsotsi and his board had come to an end.
Ben Ngubane had been appointed acting chairman with immediate effect.
“This step, the board believes, will ensure that the power utility can focus on the challenges facing it and sets the utility on a new path to regain the confidence of all stakeholders concerned in ensuring the important work of meeting the energy needs of the country,” Eskom said in a statement.
Tsotsi had been accused of interfering in operational matters in the wake of the suspension of four of Eskom’s top executives earlier this month, said BDLive.
