Matona to leave Eskom, suspension lifted

[miningmx.com] – ESKOM, the South African electricity company, said it had parted ways with CEO, Tshediso Matona, adding that the suspension he was serving had fallen away as he was not guilty of misconduct or wrongdoing.

Matona was suspended on March 12 along with three other board members amid an internal inquiry launched by former chairman, Zola Tsotsi. In the interim period, Brian Molefe, CEO of Transnet, was appointed acting CEO of Eskom.

Said Eskom: “The separation is … by no means an anticipation of the outcomes of the inquiry, the latter whose objective is to enable the organisation to deal with its challenges”.
