Acacia parts ways with COO Ash

[miningmx.com] – TANZANIAN gold miner, Acacia Resources, said it had parted ways with its chief operating officer, Michelle Ash, leaving the direct operating responsibility with CEO, Brad Gordon.

“I will again take direct responsibility for the operations given that our number one priority is achieving the planned improvement in performance in the fourth quarter,” said Gordon in an announcement.

Lower grade ores at its Bulyanhulu and Buzwagi mines resulted in Acacia producing poor third quarter numbers and resulted in the firm reducing its gold production guidance to about 718,000 ounces for the year compared to 800,000 oz previously.

Said Gordon: “… October was fully in line with plan, across all three sites, and we remain on track for the full year. We plan to reassess the situation as regards any potential replacement COO early in 2016.”
