
[miningmx.com] – EXXARO Resources said it had signed a mining convention with the Republic of Congo (RoC) giving its plans to build an iron ore mine in the country a lift.
The convention is subject to conditions precedent “… in relation to the execution of definitive agreements for Exxaro’s access to rail and port facilities,” the company said in an announcement to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange today.
“Exxaro will be considering the mining convention together with these agreements within its governance processes,” it said. Further information would be provided at its annual results presentation in March, it said.
