Ramaphosa, Mantashe to blame for strike

[miningmx.com] – FORMER trade unionists, Cyril Ramaphosa and Gwede Mantashe, now deputy president and secretary-general of the ANC respectively, were to blame for the protracted strike in the platinum sector as they have failed to negotiate a living wage for miners in the past.

In a report by BDLive, the Workers and Socialist Party (WASP) hit out at Ramaphosa and Mantashe and also asked why it was the platinum companies were not being demonised for having foreign shareholders whereas foreign white nationals among the socialist parties were.

WASP and the Alternative Information and Development Centre, which are foreign funded, were the subject of Mantashe’s criticism over the weekend for fuelling the strike which has been led by the Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union.
