Ramatlhodi to dispose of mining shares

[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s mines minister, Ngoako Ramatlhodi, would sell his stake in Atlatsa Resources, shares he received prior to being elected to the country’s cabinet, said Bloomberg News.

Ramatlhodi’s spokesman, Mahlodi Muofhe told the newswire service that the minister had instructed his attorney to transfer the business interest to a blind trust but it was thought better to dispose of the interest completely to avoid any conflict.

Ramatlhodi, who was made mineral resources minister in May, holds the interest in Vancouver-based Atlatsa through a stake bought by his former wife in Legakabje Mining and Exploration, said Bloomberg News.
