[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s energy sector was due for a shake up in which nuclear and shale gas playing an important part in the energy mix, said BDLive citing President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation speech on June 17.
“This situation calls for a radical transformation of the energy sector, to develop a sustainable energy mix that comprises coal, solar, wind, hydro, gas and nuclear energy,” BDLive quoted Zuma to have said.
“The transformation will require structural changes in the manner in which government departments, affected state-owned companies and the industry as a whole, address the energy challenges,” he said.
