[miningmx.com] – ANGLO American Platinum (Amplats) would spin off its Rustenburg mines into a separately listed company, said Bloomberg News citing Franz Stehring, head of labour union UASA.
Stehring told the newswire that a listing of the mines, deemed by Amplats to be non-core, will take about nine months to complete, he said.
“We’ll be making an announcement this quarter on which exit route we will be taking,’ Amplats spokeswoman Mpumi Sithole told Bloomberg News.
