Kumba in business review as prices tumble

[miningmx.com] – ANGLO American listed subsidiary, Kumba Iron Ore, was reviewing all operations, spending plans and product portfolios after prices fell to a five-year low, said Bloomberg News.

Citing Gert Schoeman, Kumba Iron Ore spokesman, the newswire said that iron ore prices had fallen to lower levels than the company expected. Schoeman was commenting at the launch of a $382m village resettlement programme to make way for an expansion at Kumba’s Sishen mine in the Northern Cape province.

The company will announce more details on its business review on London-based Anglo American’s investor day on December 9, Schoeman told Bloomberg News.
