[miningmx.com] – TSHIPI e Ntle Manganese Mining, the company in which Pallinghurst Resources has a stake, is considering a bid for Hotzel, the neighbouring manganese mine owned by BHP Billiton, said BDLive.
“We’ve always had our hand up if there was ever going to be corporate action as far as they, BHP, were concerned,” said Saki Macozoma, Tshipi’s non-executive chairman in an interview with BDLive on November 21.
However, a transaction would have to wait until BHP Billiton had completed a demerger of assets which includes Hotazel, said Macozoma. Tshipi is on track to produce two million tonnes/year of manganese, said BDLive.
