[miningmx.com] – LONMIN CEO, Ben Magara, hailed the company’s black economic empowerment deal with local communities as a company milestone and said it had been “a long time in the making”.
“This is a milestone that has been a long time in the making and the celebration today effectively heralds the start of a new partnership between Lonmin and its host communities,’ Magara was quoted by Sapa to have said in an article republished by Business Report.
Lonmin signed three transactions with local communities increasing its BEE by 8% to the 26% level required by the South African government in terms of the mining charter.
