Resources Limited reported on Friday that discussions with the National Union of Mine workers to find a resolution to the strike at KZN Sands were continuing and that it remained hopeful that the parties would be able to reach an agreement soon.
“Production at the KZN Sands smelter continues using stockpiled feedstock and operations at the Hillendale mine have resumed. Stakeholders will be advised as soon as further information is available,” Exxaro said.
KZN Sands encompasses the mining, refining and smelting of mineral sands to produce titanium slag, the company’s main product. Hillendale Mine and Empangeni.
