DMR’s Ramontja a director of PAMDC

[miningmx.com] – THE director-general of the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), Thibedi Ramontja, is a director of Pan African Mineral Development Company (PAMDC), the company that has overlapping mining rights with Australia’s Aquila Resources, said Business Times which cited company registration records.

Aquila Resources said on September 23 that it would take the South African government to court if fails to win a mining right to parts of a 147.8 million tonne (mt) manganese deposit situated in South Africa’s Northern province.

The mining right relates to the Gravenhage manganese deposit which is subject to an overlapping prospecting right by PAMDC, an entity owned by the governments of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
