
[miningmx.com] – DE BEERS has warned clients to draw a distinction between diamonds formed in the earth and their synthetic counterparts that are grown in laboratories in a matter of hours.
BDLive, citing comments by De Beers in a note titled: “Undisclosed Synthetics. What you need to know”, said the diamond group was concerned about the prevalence of synthetic diamonds in the industry.
“Never use the word “diamond’ to describe or identify any object or product not meeting the definition,” De Beers said in in the note.
