[miningmx.com] – THERE was a 50:50 chance that the Associated Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) would proceed with a strike at Lonmin’s Marikana mine, analysts told Bloomberg News.
The union and Lonmin are due to begin arbitration proceedings on June 26 under the auspices of the Council for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
Peter Major, an analyst for Cadiz Corporate Solutions said, however, that the situation was “on a precipice”.
