
[miningmx.com] – THE Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry has criticised Eskom for the poor selection of contractors on the Medupi project which the power utility said earlier this week would be six months overdue and cost R10bn more than planned.
Viola Manuel, executive director of the chamber, said: “It’s no use blaming the sub-contractors. Eskom chose the sub-contractors and it is now apparent that it chose badly and then failed to monitor their work properly.”
