[miningmx.com] – HARMONY Gold said an employee at its Kusasalethu mine west of Johannesburg was fatally injured following a fall of ground accident in the development area of the operation.
As a result of the accident, all development operations at the mine have been stopped by management whilst the company investigated the events. Kusasalethu is due to be restructured in an attempt to rein-in costs.
Harmony’s CEO, Graham Briggs and the company’s management team said they had expressed their sincere condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased.
