Stonewall considering Johannesburg listing

[miningmx.com] – AUSTRALIAN group Stonewall Mining, a junior gold miner operating near Pilgrims Rest in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province, is considering a secondary listing in Johannesburg, said BDLive citing the firm’s CEO, Lloyd Birrell.

Birrell told BDLive that the company was mining “reef residue”, or blasted rock left behind by previous owners decades ago, after crews of mine workers hand-sorted reef in underground workings after blasts.

“By screening this material and pulling out the minus 25mm fraction, we are able to concentrate 92% of the gold to between 25% and 35% of the mass,” he said, adding that this meant there was a concentrated product going into the mill before being processed.
