[miningmx.com] – SIERRA Leone forecast that its mining sector would revive once cases of the Ebola virus dropped to zero, said Bloomberg News citing the country’s main mining industry group.
“By the way the numbers are dropping, we don’t want to tempt faith by predicting but, I would think in the next two or three months we should be at zero,’ John Sisay, president of the Chamber of Mines told Bloomberg News.
“The challenge of course is containing those areas that had infections. We’ve seen a steady drop in the infections of Ebola in the last few months,’ he said.
The West African Ebola outbreak that began in December 2013 has spread to almost 23,000 people and killed more than 9,000. In Sierra Leone 3,088 died and 8,275 were infected said Bloombert News citing the Health Ministry.
