
[miningmx.com] – WORK at Eskom’s Medupi project had ground to a halt, according to BDLive which cited the comments of the National Union of Metalworkers South Africa (NUMSA).
This was after workers stayed away in their thousands in protest at the firing of others, said BDLive.
“The site is not operational and there is no work being done,” said Steve Nhlapo, the head of collective bargaining for Numsa. “We are currently in negotiations with contractors and Eskom,” he, said.
