[miningmx.com] – AUREUS Mining poured its first gold mine from its New Liberty project in north-western Liberia, said Reuters citing a company announcement.
The mine, around 100 km (62 miles) northwest of the capital Monrovia, is expected to have an eight-year mine life and annual production of 119,000 ounces for the first six years of production, according to a feasibility study.
The Toronto- and AIM-listed firm expected the mine to reach full production in the third quarter of this year at a rate of some 95,000 tonnes of ore per month, said Reuters.
