Somkhele fires Petmin to 60% earnings rise

[miningmx.com] – PETMIN said headline earnings for the year ended June 30 would be about 60% higher coming in at some 24 cents per share compared to the 14.95 cents/share earnings in the 2014 financial year.

The improvement was owing to a “solid” performance at the company’s Somkhele anthracite mine, the company said in an announcement to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange News Service.

“Despite a flat pricing environment, the strong operational performance is attributed to increased production and sales volumes, improved plant yields and effective cost management,” the company added.
