[miningmx.com] – FULL year gold production by Acacia Mining would match last year’s output of some 718,000 ounces, but lower than its target for the year of up to 800,000 oz, said Reuters citing a company announcement.
The company, in which Barrick Gold is the controlling shareholder, said third quarter gold production was lower than expected owing to lower grade ores at its Bulyanhulu and Buzwagi mines in Tanzania.
Acacia had resolved the issues at these mines, but expects full-year production to be lower than its earlier estimate, said Reuters. Output in the three months ended September 30 came in at 164,000 oz.
