Ferrochrome price 11.5% lower for Q1

[miningmx.com] – FIRST quarter European benchmark ferrochrome prices were settled at $0.92c cents per pound (c/lb), a decline of 11.5% compared to the price agreed in the fourth quarter, said Merafe Resources in an announcement.

Merafe said in October that attributable ferrochrome production for the first nine months of its 2015 financial year increased 14.5% compared to the same period last year.

Output totalled 277,000 tonnes for the nine months against 242,000 tonnes previously whilst third quarter production was 82,000 tonnes compared to 74,000 tonnes in the third quarter of the 2014 financial year, it said.
