[miningmx.com] – ANGLO American Platinum (Amplats) would fire about 3,300 workers at its Rustenburg operations which was less than a quarter of an original prosposal, said Bloomberg News.
“Through the course of next year we hope to start seeing the benefits of the restructured operations coming through,’ Amplats CEO, Chris Griffith, said.
A further 1,500 workers had applied for voluntary severance packages while 1,600 workers would be redeployed within the organisation, he said.
