More work to be done in mining: Motlanthe

[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s deputy president, Kgalema Motlanthe, said there was still much work to be done in the mining sector including more training and improved planning for human settlements.

In an article written by Sapa and republished on Fin24, Motlanthe said there were still problems in the sector. “To that end, the improvement in productivity, innovation, human resource development and training is an absolute imperative,” he said. He was speaking at the Bench Marks Foundation Conference in Kempton Park.

“We must also ensure that mining plans are comprehensive and include adequate planning for sustainable human settlements with the requisite amenities and infrastructure,” Motlanthe said.
