
[miningmx.com] – JAN Nelson, the former CEO of Pan African Resources, is hoping to buy a copper and gold mine in Chile and another in South African described by BDLive in a report today as ‘near surface’.
BDLive, citing Nelson who now heads AIM-listed Xtract Resources, said he was in talks to raise £3m in debt and equity to recapitalise the Chepica in Chile.
Commenting on the South African acquisition, Nelson told BDLive: “We are looking at a project in South Africa that could generate cash within 18 months. It’s a surface deposit,” he said.
A deal in South Africa could be struck in three months, BDLive said.
