AMCU said members attacked at mine

[miningmx.com] – JOSEPH Mathunjwa, president of the Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) said members were attacked at Beatrix, a mine owned by Sibanye Gold where the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) had gone on strike over pay.

“They attacked our members. They were badly assaulted and admitted to hospital,” Mathunjwa told Reuters which said there were fears the strike could turn violent.
