[miningmx.com] — Power utility Eskom will this week do its first boiler pressure test at the new Medupi power station, the first such test since the installation of the last unit at Majuba twelve years ago.
The test is scheduled for Friday.
Eskom CEO Brian Dames said last week the testing would be an important step towards bringing one of the country’s new power stations into operation.
Medupi’s first unit is expected to start delivering electricity to the national grid by mid-2013.
