Blyvoor “in ICU”, says Goldrich’s Ngubane

[miningmx.com] – THULANI Ngubane, chairman of Goldrich Holdings which was granted control of the west Rand gold mine Blyvooruitzicht (Blyvoor), said the company “just need some time” to make the operation profitable.

Speaking to Business Times, Ngubane said: “The body is in ICU to keep it warm so we can give it a new life. We just need some time to put the business in the right way”. His comments come after Goldrich was put into business rescue which gives its protection against its creditors whilst it plots its future. The company was not bankrupt, Ngubane said. “The child (Blyvoor) is on life support, but we still believe it’s got a life of 10-15 years ahead of it,’ he said.

According to reports, Blyvoor is in a state of disorder after it was overrun by illegal miners who are battling against private security forces hired to protect the resources at the mine.
