[miningmx.com] – CHINA promised to deal with the problem of illegal in West Africa’s Ghana after hundreds of Chinese miners were arrested and sent home for illegally mining without permission, said AFP in an article republished by News24.
Wang Yi, China’s foreign minister, said while on a four-nation tour of Africa that China took the issue of illegal mining “very seriously”.
“The Chinese government will encourage reputable and equitable finance companies to come to Ghana to be involved in the resource sector and we hope the government of Ghana will provide the support and facilitation to these companies,” he said.
