[miningmx.com] – THE under-performing Sishen iron ore mine in the Northern Cape was Kumba Iron Ore CEO Norman Mbazima’s “nightmare” and that it kept him “awake a night”.
Speaking to BDLive, Mbazima said: “Sishen is my nightmare right now. It’s what keeps me awake at night. Sishen is my number one priority now. Sishen production and safety are my top priority.”
Kumba warned that exports for this year would be lower than the targeted 40 million tonnes. It sold 29.5 million tonnes in the first nine months of the year, said BDLive.
