Madagascar in struggle to revive mining

[miningmx.com] – MADAGASCAR was in a struggle to revive its mining sector with investors distrustful of promises to restore political stability in the southern African country, said newswire service, Reuters.

The primary risk to Madagascar is that national elections due on December 20 fail to deliver an outright winner, said Reuters. Both candidates are promising to breathe new life into the mining industry in Madagascar which the current mines minister likened to a sick patient.

“The mining sector is sick,” mines minister, Rajo Daniella Randriafeno, told Reuters. “It’s like a person who is slowly losing the blood that keeps him alive,” he said.
