[miningmx.com] – PLATINUM production in May sank to a record low owing to the strike in the industry which affected the operations of Lonmin, Impala Platinum and Anglo American Platinum, said Bloomberg News citing data from Statistics SA.
Production of the platinum group metals fell 49% from a year earlier while total mining output fell 6.5%, Statistics SA said.
