[miningmx.com] – AN employee at Harmony Gold’s Tshepong mine near Welkom was fatally injured this morning, the gold producer said in an announcement to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
All operations at the mine have been stopped whilst the company conducted an investigation, it said. The employee was “inundated by ore in a centre raise”, the company added.
Harmony Gold said on March 26 that production stoppages would reduce its March quarter gold output by up to 15% compared to the December quarter.
