
[miningmx.com] – MORE than a dozen mining companies and non-governmental organisations were drawing up their plans amid an outbreak of the highly infectious Ebola virus which has spread from Guinea to Sierra Leone.
“Companies are taking a harder look and asking “Are we in great danger?’,’ John Rose, CEO of iJET International, which is advising businesses and NGOs in the region, told Bloomberg News. “They can turn the switch on very quickly and move people,’ he said.
Two potentially affected companies are London Mining and African Minerals, the share prices of which were under pressure in London this week after they announced plans to suspend transport to and from infected regions.
