“We are not desperate to get into platinum,” said Froneman. “If it doesn’t happen we still have a good business. We will not make stupid decisions.”
Froneman added that the platinum sector was “ripe for consolidation” and that the company had spoken to a number of platinum firms expressing its interest in buying assets they may not want.
