[miningmx.com] – A PLAN to establish a coal fund that would help finance start-up ventures and speed consolidation among black-owned producers of coal has been criticised by a coal analyst who said the “ambitious attempt” could backfire, reported BDLive.
Said independent coal analyst, Xavier Prevost: “The strategy has been tried before . it just doesn’t work”.
Prevost added that the fund would need to be administered by an entity independent of Eskom, major mining companies and the government, in order to be successful.
