Miners face ‘crisis of confidence’: PwC

[miningmx.com] – THE mining industry was suffering from a ‘crisis of confidence’ according to Mine, consulting firm PwC’s annual study of the top 40 mining companies globally.

PwC said the net profit of these companies had fallen 49% last year to R68bn, while market capitalisation had been severely battered in the first four months of this year, said BDLive.

The market capitalisations of 37 of those top 40 companies had dropped more than $200bn, or 17%, in the first four months of the year, BDLive reported citing the study.
