Johnson Matthey to seek new pastures

[miningmx.com] – UK platinum semi-fabricator and industry research house, Johnson Mattney, said it would seek new clients following the closure of its 21-year sales agreement with Anglo American Platinum (Amplats).

Citing Robert Macleod, finance director for Johnson Matthey, BDLive reported: “We were previously exclusive to Anglo Platinum, so we can now go and talk to other people about whether they want to use Johnson Matthey’s expertise”.

“We’re talking to everybody about what they might want, particularly around the research side,” he said.

Johnson Matthey said in February it would end the agreement with the world’s biggest platinum producer in which it purchased metal for use in its auto-catalysts at a discount in return for developing uses for the metal, BDLive said.
