[miningmx.com] – ACACIA Mining, formerly known as African Barrick, was looking for possible production growth opportunities in West Africa, said Bloomberg News citing the mining firm’s CEO, Brad Gordon.
“We’re already looking for good exploration ground in Senegal, Mali and Ghana as well’ as Burkina Faso said Gordon in an interview with Bloomberg News. “That immediately tells you which countries we’re prepared to do business in,’ he said.
Gordon said last year that the company had finished a period of fixing its operations which are based in Tanzania, and would now seek growth through exploration and by conducting transformative deals. He said that it was never cheaper to buy gold assets.
