[miningmx.com] – A STRIKE over wages moved closer to reality at Impala Platinum (Implats) after majority union the Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) was awarded with the right to strike.
Bloomberg News reported that AMCU had been given a certificate of non-resolution by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration. “We’ve done our best to put a credible offer on the table,’ said Johan Theron, spokesperson for Implats.
“Our priority now is to make sure the offer is communicated to the entire workforce,’ Theron told the news agency.
