Ivanhoe may sell Kamoa stake to Chinese

[miningmx.com] – IVANHOE Mines is considering selling a stake in itself or its Kamoa project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to China National Gold Group, said Bloomberg News citing people with knowledge of the matter.

China National Gold Group Corporation, which is the country’s largest gold producer, may take a 15% stake in the project which has a net present value of about $2.5bn after taxes as of November, said Bloomberg News.

Ivanhoe, valued at C$937m ($846m), also owns the Kipushi zinc and copper project in the DRC and Platreef platinum project in South Africa.
