[miningmx.com] – OUTGOING ArcelorMittal SA CEO, Nonkululeko Nyembezi-Heita is to join Germany’s IchorCoal in March in an effort to refocus the company’s growth strategy on South Africa, said online publication, BDLive.
IchorCoal is switching out of coal mining investments in Poland in favour of South Africa where it is already invested in Vunene Mining, in which it has a 74% stake, and a 30% stake in Mbuyelo Coal.
The two South African investments represent a combined nine coal mines and projects, said BDLive citing comments of the group’s former CEO in the annual report.
Nyembezi-Heita will be joined by former Riversdale Mining executive, Andries Engelbrecht who will be IchorCoal’s chief operating officer, BDLive said.
