Eskom board at odds, Govt may intervene

[miningmx.com] – THE South African government could force the reorganisation of Eskom’s board amid a power struggle among executives at the power utility, said BDLive.

The publication reported there were disagreements between key executives over a number of issues relating to a multi-million rand sponsorship deal with a government-owned newspaper and the award of a tender to Areva, the French group.

Eskom’s chairman, Zola Tsotsi, reportedly asked for public enterprises minister, Lynne Brown, to intervene after board members held a meeting without him as executives sought to square off their positions.
