Eskom board not to be overhauled: Nene

[miningmx.com] – THE South African government was not contemplating an overhaul of the board of its power utility, Eskom, said BDLive citing a statement by the country’s finance minister, Nhlanhla Nene.

Nene described a report that an overhaul was being prepared as an inaccurate interpretation of his earlier comments.

The facts were that public enterprises minister, Lynne Brown, was adding three new members to Eskom’s board, two of whom were to increase board membership to a maximum allowed of 13 against the current 11 members, and the third who would be the replacement for the recently resigned chairman, Zola Tsotsi.
