[miningmx.com] – SOUTH32, the company BHP Billiton is proposing be created from a demerger of its non-core assets, has nominated Ntombifuthi (Futhi) Mtoba, the former chairwoman of Deloitte South Africa, as one of four new non-executive appointments.

If the demerger is approved at a shareholder meeting scheduled for May 6, Mtoba will be joined on the board by Woodside Petroleum’s Frank Cooper, Peter Kukielski who led ArcelorMittal’s mining business, and Wayne Osborn, a director of Wesfarmers Limited.
Previously announced board members of South32 are Graham Kerr (CEO-Elect), and two other non-executives Keith Rumble and Xolani Mkhwanazi.

“The appointments bring broad international business experience across multiple industries with a particular focus on finance, processing and mining,” said David Crawford, chairman of South32.
