[miningmx.com] – DISCUSSIONS between South Africa’s platinum producers and the Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) are due to continue on February 26, said Sapa.
In an article republished by Fin24, Sapa cited a statement from the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) which said: “As a result of today’s (February 24) engagement, and as part of the mediation process, a follow-up engagement with AMCU will take place on Wednesday this week”.
AMCU responded to calls for the strike to be ended by platinum producers saying it would continue until it won a R12,500 per month basic salary for mineworkers working in the platinum sector.
