[miningmx.com] – ZWELINZIMA Vavi, general-secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), said South Africa had become “protest headquarters” of the world and was a ticking timebomb.
In a report by BDLive, Vavi is quoted to have told Cosatu members to “scale down on the politics” and return to their core function of serving members by going “back to basics”. He was concerned by “grinding poverty”, BDLive said.
“We do not exist so that at some point the president can be a minister, we do not exist so that at some point Zwelinzima can wear a nice tie and be in the Cabinet,” he said.
