
[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s platinum production fell about 36% in February – the most in two years – owing to a strike in the sector, said Bloomberg News citing data from Statistics South Africa.
A spokesman for Statistics South Africa, Juan-Pierre Terblanche, told the newswire that the decline in output had led to total year-on-year mining output falling 4.8% in February.
